AMS tuned FP black E85 stock motor.

Well I just got back from AMS this over the weekend.

It was a blast and we had a lot of fun. Everyone over there is very cool and laid back, They take time and listen to you and take there time explaining things.

Well here are my current mods to the car

STOCK MOTOR

FP black (18psi spring) http://www.StrictlyImportMotorsports...p/fpblackx.htm
AMS Intake
FIC 1100cc injectors
Walbro 255HP fuel pump
E85 tuned
3 inch catback (straight pipe)
Tatrix 3 port Solenoid

managed to make 440 awhp and 354 ft/lbs

AMS maxed out the injectors, and they said that the stock block will not hold much more then 360 ft/lbs of torque

I have had the car back for less then 2 days lol. And i already want more. I plan on doing the Head motor and clutch in a couple weeks. I am already working on my new fuel setup and plan on going with some bigger injectors around 2000cc even though my 1100cc are only 3 days old lol. After talking to AMS and looking at my graph with them and seeing that the Fp black still has tones more to give and is still making power but is limited due to my stock rev limiter, i need to get her revving to 10,000 rpms.

The new build will consist of kelfords AMS grind cams that just came out and dual springs and titanium retainers. AMS said that pistons are fine just get rods but i will be doing it all. Im thinking of running the same motor that AMS uses in there 900x cars.

But so far I am very impressed with the Evo X. The car is just amazing and who can argue with the abuse that that stock motor can put up with.

AMS wants you to keep the stock pistons and only upgrade the rods?

They said that the stock pistons are fine. And to get some new rods. I would believe this is for torque reasons and the possibility of throwing a stock rod out block.

can you get a better pic of the plot showing the RPM's on the X axis? would be nice to see where it's hitting full spool

of course you need new rods, but i would think that they would want pistons that handle detonation better. IIRC, Thats the reason many people get forged pistons made from a "softer alloy"

Right. Well regardless I will be getting new pistons. No point of breaking it all down and only doing rods.
