336awhp 312tq

Long story short. Just got tuned yesterday and installed the day before AMS wide mouth dp, TOMEI cbe, AEM intake at @#$% ^&*%$. Car was a blast and sounded great on the drive home. This morning I woke up and pop the hood to look for the grimmspeed ebc that I thought they had installed before the tune. No grimmspeed ebc. Instead I see a nice shiny purple tube shape gadget at the location of where the grimmspeed was suppose to be. Did some searching online and found out the purple gadget was a Hallman pro manual boost control. Oh forgot to mention before the research of the purple gadget I did turn the knob counter and clockwise a few times and lost track of original location not that I was keeping track. Called the shop and they said it was there miscommunication part in not updating me on the grimmspeed malfunctioning after 2 pulls on dyno. They replace wit Hallman for me since I was strapped on dyno already. Told them bout the knob turning they said to turn the knob low boost all the way than counter turn 2 revolutions and drive mildly until I can bring back to them to accurately adjust the boost. I have no boost gauge and definitely no knowledge of boost controlling or tuning. My question to you guys is since I altered the mbc setting. What does the shop need to do to get the settings back to the tuned 22 psi. Will I need to get on dyno again and retuned? Is it safe to drive before accurate boost adjustment? Also will like to know some feedback on numbers produce on parts installed and tune. Thanks EvoM'rs

Worthless thread title. You can do better than that.

What will they do to adjust the MBC? Use a boost gauge.

I'd never go there again, personally. Any shop that swaps out parts and then "forgets to mention it" seems sketchy.

They will either throw a boost gauge in to adjust the boost or will have you back on the dyno to re-adjust. I wouldn't pay a dime for them to re-adjust it though as they put a MBC on without your permission and without you knowing, and then just spaced to tell you? Seems a little weird to me, did you get your grimmspeed back or do you know what they did with it? If you don't want to take it back to them, just get a boost gauge and you can slowly raise the boost until you have it back to where it was originally set. If I were you I would take it back and have them perfect the tune or re-do it with a new grimmspeed unit as that was what you were promised in the first place.

why did you turn the knob ? lol. you dont need a boost gauge to measure boost. you tuner will plug the cobb or tatrix back into the car and he will be able to measure the boost from the map sensor. it just seems like they were doing you a solid by putting the manual in there since your grim was malfunctioning. although the factory 2 port could have done the job too. sounds like you need a new 3 port ebc which needs usually requires a retune which you should work out with your tuner.

from what you said your car was doing pretty awesome before you fiddled with it so get them to fix it and next time if it isnt broken dont touch it.

Thanks for the input guys. Took it back to the shop today they connect a extra boost gauge they had did a few runs up and down the block adjust the mbc. Car is boosting 22psi now versus the 10psi I had when i turned it almost all the way down. Car is a blast to drive. Ebc or mbc don't really matter to me as long as its running smoove which it is for now. Plus the hall man looks alot better than the grimmspeed in the engine bay. I guesss my next step is to get some gauges. Thanks again Evom'rs
