With proper mivec tuning those cars can make decent power.

And ya one day I'll do "REAL" dyno runs but till then u have to deal with VD #s

Btw here is VD vs. mustang Dyno of one Evo m member.
Found that pretty interesting actually

E tune. My power band progressed each time I got new map. So I dunno car feels fast, way faster then my other tunes so it's gotta be making more power then previous tunes.

Did you get a grade % of the road you were using? Making sure it was flat as it also affects, anyways i bet it feels fantastic

Someone else's virtual results have absolutely zero to do with yours. Sorry. I'm glad you're happy with your car though, in the end that's all that matters and what this is all about Enjoy it!

Anybody that actually understands Mivec knows that it's not a HP adder, it's a spool and torque adder. Up top it is not a miracle power adder at all, unless your mivec map was horrible to begin with and then tuned properly, getting your power back.

I will also agree on Kracka's comment, 70whp from a colder day? Again, *ANY* true dyno operator that has been operating a dyno for more then a year knows that is hogwash.

These VD threads are getting seriously out of hand.

Just doing the math on 800cc injectors and horsepower capability will show you this is not possible.

I gained around 40whp just because it was 40 degrees colder outside. Still have the logs.

So, yeah colder weather + bigger turbo + cams = higher gains on colder weather.

The only way you gained 40 hp when the temp dropped is if it was tuned warm or even hot at around 26 psi and your now running 31 psi. It's not the cold it's the higher boost.

I tend not to pay attention to the numbers on VD's so much as the shape of the tq/hp. VD is VERY touchy, on the same road running one direction vs another makes 30whp change (back to back) due to a slight grade (maybe 1*). So for tuning comparisons I have to use every other run.

Nope. Same amount of boost. Actually, I was tuned for 26-27psi on 80-90 degree weather and my pulls were made on 24-25 psi on a cold day. So i made 40 whp more with lower boost. As I said I have the logs. Trust me if I posted my graph that I did on a cold day, I would get the same reaction from kracka. "What? xxx whp on stock Turbo and injectors? You need to go on a real dyno. "

To sum it up, cold weather gives insane amount of power increase.

^ I would say that cold weather defintely does make the car run a little faster, but in no way even close to 70whp.

Tops probably 10-15hp. From an 85 degree day to a 35 degree day. 70whp is just ridiculous, why would anyone mod? Why not just wait for it to get cold

Its all good man. Some just might be skeptical of the high power #'s, but as long as the car runs good and your happy, thats all that matters.
