Bbk full ported

26 PSI Pump gas, compared to HKS BB turbo at 26 PSI. Excellent job CBRD and he gave me a cable and connector for logging on EVO SCAN, for fine tuning! Car is and is night and day difference over the HKS turbo. This is the 2011 MR with AMS 2.2 RAce Motor and all the supporting mods.

Thanks Mitch, and thank you for the amazing AMS race motor! You guys did an amazing job and will definalty be back to your facility.Your advice for this stock frame turbo from CBRD is great, 26 psi on Pump gas 430 WHP on his dyno.I can't say enough about Chad completly over the top from start to finish.

any reason you're only reving to 7400rpm on a race motor? also, what kind of boost was this at?

Chad will have to chim in about the rev limiter I believe it's 8000. It was 26 psi on pump gas.

doesnt seem you tried too hard with HKS turbo. has hit 488whp on 4g63. similar setups overlayed with bbk full are virtually identical power curves.

your thread is very misleading if you ask me.

Didn't that car at 488whp blow up?He tried hard huh?

R/TErnie
I made more power with the HKS7460 than all of you suckers. 488whp :P

I would run the BB-BBK-Full w/anti-surge cover or the FP-BB-HTA Green w/anti-surge cover.

The HKS will surge. The turbine housing is smaller than a stock one cut for a bigger wheel. I wouldn't own the HKS again simply because of the surge.

the turbo failed after 5000 miles. pretty good actually when you exceed intended maximum shaft speeds of a turbo and get that many miles out of it. Curt Brown has been getting about two weeks use from pushing bolt on turbos to record setting hp levels.

all that aside the my point was the hks 7460 is virtually identical in flow to a BBK full. you claim there is a nite and day difference between the two. graph shows 90whp difference. which is just plain nonsense.

I understand your point. If both the HKS 7460/BBK FULL flow virtually the same,I have searched high and low of dyno's and haven't seen any HKS 7460 turbo's at 26 psi on pump gas 93 octane at 430 WHP-MD. On a EVO X MR ,or any evo 8-9 EVO period.I had the HKS 7460 on the stock motor and 2.2 AMS race motor on three different dyno's. Two dynojet's at 26 psi 370-380 whp.CBRD MD at 325 hp.If you have any charts or is there anyone that has an HKS 7460 making 400+ on at 26psi or less on pump gas?
Chad/Mitch who have both tuned my car with the HKS turbo with the AMS race motor, could chime in about it.

Sean Ivy did some of the initial testing with the turbo. made 460whp dynojet on pump gas. thats gonna be pretty close to 430 mustang. he had no surge with it either.

we arent talking about a BBK full versus an HKS turbo-

its the HKS bb evo X turbo versus the BBX full evo X turbo-

vastly different thing

the hks cartridge is the same between evo x and evo ix. just mirror images.

the bbk and bbx are both rated at 50lb per minute.

dont know where you are getting" vastly different" from.
