What?!? Everything I've ever read said the entire long block is identical between the two. If this is true than a cam upgrade would net some significant gains (such as an MX1), as opposed to an X where the cost vs gain is not worth while (on stock turbo).
Really are you sure about this?? Do you have pics specs, I'm almost positive the PN are identical from Mitsu??

I might be remembering another 4B11 derivative, so I will throw that out there now. I will doublecheck ASA tomorrow when I get into work.

Yes please do. I know for myself, this could have a material impact on my build plans (to cam or not to cam, that is the question ), thanks

No, I believe RA and X cams are identical.

Im curious to what the base stock dyno pull is on 2012 vrs the 2011 & 2010 and what miles are on the 3 cars tested. I just traded my 08 gsr and hopped into a 2012 MR and the MR runs way better stock then my 08 did.

I'll See if i can post up a graph of a stock 2012. I'm thinking its something in the ECU causing the variance.

I cant find the RA cam part numbers, I seem to have an older version of ASA. Here are the X cams for reference-

1015A840- exhaust cam
1015A762- inlet cam

If what you are saying is correct, mitsu will be in a lot of trouble especially for the pelple who brought a "12"

Just because they have different part numbers doesn't mean they are different.

The RA cams are different thing is a rumor, same with the "ra internals are different" rumor.

Same motor.

I have different part numbers for the RA cams, but as Bryan said it could be the same thing. That is far from uncommon with Mitsu. I am going to find out though as soon as I can, I am pretty sure I know someone with the definitive answer. I only offered that as a possibility not the cause. I dont know why the cars I am doing are down on power or why the MIVEC is radically different from other years. It happens to be but A+B=C doesnt necessarily hold true.

I hold this as an example-
