The ef3 is the way to go. Can't say anything bad about it so far

Currently I run: EF3 turbo, SF intake, XLE BPV, fic1100cc, aem320 fuel pump, testpipe, muffler delete, ETS full 3inch FMIC kit, 3inch FP turbo inlet pipe, and I'm always on e85 self tuned

I'd recommend the ef3 over the ef4. the 3 has more than enough power for a stock block and spools a lot quicker than the ef4. the 4 dowsnt hit full boost till after 5000rpm.

Unless you plan on building the block and going for extremely high numbers the 3 is the way to go.

One thing I've really come to to an understanding with is power under the curve. Shooting for high HP #'s really isnt the way to go. Right now I focus more on mid range power delivery than the top. Bottom to mid range is where it counts

Very nice btack. My Evo 8 had an FP Red turbo and I loved that set up unfortunately the red died on me they didn't have oil upgrade back when I put it on my car and overtime it killed it.I was only going to do gas on my X as it's my daily and I don't want to run alternative fuel in it.I have that to deal with my 8.Very nice numbers though.Looks fun.

What oil were you running with the Red when it died if you don't mind me asking?

Journal bearing reds were never reliable. My first one lasted 3k miles with upgraded oil line and regular oil. And the second red lasted, less than 7k miles with upgraded oil line and 20w-50 v twin mobil motor oil!

This last oil change I put in castrol syntec 10W-30 Because that was my best option at the store i was at. I think I'm going to order some better racing oil for my next oil change. I don't want to burn the innards of this new turbo
