Amen, I am in the OEM HID business for aviation and military applications.

Asian made Retrofit HID kits are JUNK. Don't waste your time. I am going to add HID driving lights down next to the fogs or replace the fogs. I will end up with 4 HID's on my car. We don't really need fogs much here in Utah, I will decide when I figure out what is going to work best.

I will install our 50 watt HID's in the auxiliary new driving lights. We currently make these for aircraft and mounted on 50 caliber machine guns. Factory HID is 35watt 3200 lumens our 50 watt lights produce 5300 lumens.

This will be great for seeing deer etc. way off when out on the open road and no oncoming cars to blind.

Just please keep them properly aimed. Those could really blind the crap out of somebody from a half a mile away!

Does the stereo still play DVDs while moving like it isn't supposed to?

I love the hard drive feature, and yes it will take an iPod but cannot control it. Don't spend $50 on the mini(1/8") to RCA cable from mitsu, they are like $.50c online. Nothing like a 100x markup!

The sub still won't be as good as a great aftermarket solution, but it fits well and doesn't take up much space. Its definitely better than the one in the VIII/IX. I thought the speakers were decent, and the nav was nice. Overall I think its a well integrated system and worth the upgrade if you have the cash, especially if you have a bluetooth phone.

If I get the SSS will I find myself still wanting to upgrade the stereo? Thats my main question. I have two cars, one has a set of infinity perfect components and kappa rears (300$ speaker pairs) amplified and it sounds very nice. Another car just has really nice stock speaker replacements powered from an aftermarket HU, doesnt sound as nice but still nice

I'm wondering if i buy the SSS if i'll just end up putting a stereo in it anyway..

Also, what good is a 30GB hd in a car, am I missing something? MP3's are all I can think of...

And for those of you with experience in nav systems - do aftermarket manufacturers make things that will fit like OEM for much cheaper and do a better job (like almost everything else aftermarket) or is this something that i'm going to have to suck up and pay the 2k for?

The stereo and Navi in the 2008 Lancer GTS are the same as what will be in the Evo X. Go swing by your local dealer and play around in the Lancer GTS. You'll be able to hear for yourself and also get to play with the Navi to see how it functions. I believe there is already a kit available to install an aftermarket double-din head unit in the Lancer GTS, so that would work in the Evo X as well.

The SSS package is not just the sound. One feature u guys forgot is the FAST KEY.

Lets u get into the car, and start, lock, etc without ever taking the Remote out of your pocket.

So fast key + rockford sound + HIDS + bigger spoiler = $2000 = good deal!

Is there a "start button" to turn on and off the car?!

+1... in Theres still a key-like plastic knob that you crank but you dont have to physically insert anything into it. A simple start-stop button would have been so much easier in my opinion..

JDM X's have a push button start option. I wonder how hard it would be to get a hold of.

Most of that space is taken up by the Nav system.

I think when I get the car I'll just rip out the stock stereo and put in my old Panasonic deck for the time being. I was going to take out my JVC radio in my VIII, but that's too much work considering how I got it wired.
