does the navi system read DVDs? or just normal cds?
just wondering if i can burn my music to a data DVD so i dont have to copy like 7 cds to the evos HD

 

Yes it does read DVD's, just not while driving.....obviously......unfortunately.

 

For god sakes someone hack this feature. While my wife is driving my car she needs to be able to talk on the phone, put make up on, and watch a feature length film on the nav screen.

To answer your question I have heard of someone burning music to a dvd and playing it through the nav system...but from what I understand, they were unable to rip it...

 

yes we need to find a way around it, sooner or later its bound to be cracked

 

i tryed a music DVD and the nav would not play it. It plays music video dvds, some of the songs skipped but most worked fine. I used easy dvd creator to make the music video dvds, and used nero 7 to make the music dvds.

Certain CD-Rs the unit does not like. I assume it is the same with DVD cds. It plays DVD movies, does the unit play MP3 and WMA files off a DVD cd?

 

If you have more info on the music DVD let us know. I tried the roxio but it didnt work, could not read the disc. it was closed as well. done in Vista. are there any setting in Nero that need to be done. or can you just create a disc and put on the MP3s.
