Depends on lenth of the CD. Also if they are WM or MP3. What i have been doing is doing 1 CD at a time everytime i get in and i go to work.

How about a normal music CD that you buy at the store, 10-12 tracks. How long does it take approximately?

I can only rip audio CD's and not mp3 ones. It can take up to 20mins to do a CD.

I have ripped aobut 25 CDs to my NAV , they are 19- 20 tracks long, and generally takes about 15-18 mins. it will stop when you turn the car off but resumes as soon as you restart the car. I did 3 disc in the car 1 day and just turned the ignition on you dont have to have the car running , It didnt seem to pull much on the battery when i started it later. I too wish there was a faster and better way . I used 3 different CD- RW and put my own songs in alphabetical order . so each new CD would make some order. it will only record the first letter as the title , then i went in and finished editing each song title, wasnt in the mood to do artist. works ok , just slow, I do a one each day on the way to work

Yes CDRs should work, I personally use CDRWs, make sure its an audio CD, not an mp3 CD.
