Fitting aftermarket sub in stock location?

Well the stock sub is DVC .9 ohms each, so in series it is about 1.8ohms. But if you can get a 4ohm DVC at 2ohms, then you might be able to make the stock amp work on it. However, I would bet the stock amp pushes maybe 25-50 watts RMS maximum at 2 ohms. The stock amp is pretty weak...

I think the mounting depth in the stock enclosure is just under 4", maybe 3.75" or so.

A custom fiberglass box is going to run about $300 from what I've heard.
I think it's totally worth it, it looks so clean when it's all done.
