Turbo timer

This might sound like a dumb question, but do you have to have a turbo to have a turbo timer to keep the car running after key is in the off position? Or can u have a non turbo car and put one on to keep the car runnig for a certain period of time to cool it b4 it shuts off?

They're all the same there is no difference between a turbo timer for a turbo car vs. a timer for a n/a car. Search around and you will find one that will fit your budget. They're not that expensive.

Apexi, Greddy, HKS, and Blitz make pretty good ones. They all do the exact same thing so all your really buying is the style you like.

btw, if you are using the FAST key, the turbo timer is not going to be your best friend when it comes to installing.

a fast key is a key that you can leave in your pocket, that the car recognizes and allows you to start the car... its like a "keyless" key

Is this needed for the new X? Don't see too many people putting them on.

I doubt he has the FAST key when he's asking about a non-turbo car. And it says he drives a cobra. But I digress.

doibugu2, I was wondering the same thing. I have read somewhere that most modern turbo cars will continue to run the oil through the turbo or something to help it cool down. But I'm a newbie, does anyone know?

There's also really no need for a turbo timer on cars these days that are equipped with water cooling as well. Older styles without water passages I could understand but on a DD I would see it being no where in the picture, but to each their own I guess.
