Swapping the AWC to radio controls is straight forward and simple. Bluetooth is a seperate module but once again simple to do. Now going from audio controls to AWC is a different story.

adding bluetooth and steering wheel audio controls to GSRs has been done by a number of members on this forum, there are DIY threads for it, the cluster swap though is something that would be much more expensive and involved.

2008 or 2009? My understanding is that the USDM and JDM were the only markets that did the AWC controls on the wheel for the GSR but i could be wrong . I do kno that the MR came with the audio controls and bluetooth standard for the US. The GSR didn't for 2008. Now its standard on all Evo's for the US.

So I really wanted to change mine out... until just now.

Just noticed that 0 on the speedo is were it is normally in cars. I like how on the 2008s, the 0 is at the very bottom.

lol not changing

Strange becuase I thought all EvoX's that came to Puerto Rico were USDM and all 2008 EvoX's here had radio and bluetooth controls

Nope. I had to add those to mine with the bluetooth module. Well worth it!

You can follow this "how-to" to get the stereo controls on your steering wheel. It is VERY easy to do. The parts don't cost that much. I did this to my GSR about 4 months ago. It's great

LOL, I don't know if I'd call that easy. Looks pretty time consuming. Glad it's possible though.

Oddly enough, it seems like a lot more work than it is. Just a couple standard hand tools and you can install the audio controls very easily and relocate the AWC switch also very easily. On the other hand, installing the bluetooth is much more work (I didn't do that)

It's really not that hard if you are well prepared and take your time.
