Vent in trunk??

Vent in trunk??

Has anyone removed the carpet behind the RF sub and seen the vent back there. I didnt take pictures, when I seen it but what is its purpose??

No. That's to relieve pressure when the trunk lid closes. It has them inside the car somewhere also for when the doors shut.

It also makes a convenient spot to run fuel lines if you mount a surge tank back there.

Credit goes to MDR for the idea--they sell a similar kit through MAPerformance. I'd recommend upgrading to a Bosch 044 if you run E85.

It's slick because it allows you to reinstall your interior and the sub if you want to.

Um, that vent is set up to make the trunk easier to close, and the flaps on it are to keep air from coming back in (i.e. killer exhaust gasses).
