Best alarm/remote start for the Evo 10
Anything made by DEI is going to be a great product. They also have a module that will work with manual transmissions, making remote start safe.
Check out the Avital 4003. It allows you to add remote start to a factory remote. Not sure if it will work with the Evo though.
DEI makes the following brands:
Viper
Python
Hornet
Clifford
Avital
ReadyRemote
AstroStart
AutoStart
AutoMate
XpressKit

All of the cars I've owned were all manuals, so I never had the luxury of having the convenience of remote start. All of the alarm systems I've had too were all DEI products. When it comes to car alarm systems, it's one of the things you don't want to cheap out on.
All the installers I've checked keep telling I have to bridget he clutch to deactivate the clutch depress to start. Seems from reading the user guide that there is a built in feature to bypass the clutch depress. Can anyone tell me if the Viper 5904 has a built in bypass or do I have to bridge the clutch? Right now I have the 5904 installed but no auto start. Had the 5902 in my SST and I really want auto start available.

A good friend of my mind, who installs electronics for a living just installed a Compustar on my X w/ fast key. From my understanding he did not have to break the key and so far is working flawlessly. The system has a turbo timer, remote start and alarm. Also because of the turbo timer it forces the driver to put the car in neutral in order for the remote start to work. The alarm was also two way. If anyone is local, I highly recommend him and he does the work for great price.
OK let me try and settle this issue once and for all. All Viper alarms from 5701 and up have a manual mode. Your installer has to pull your clutch sensor or bridge it, how ever you want to gget around it. What you then do is set you alarm to manual mode and for remote start to work you must sshut down with a sequence which allows the alarm to verify the car is in neutral i.e. brake pressed, ebrake up, release brake, press any button on the alarm, ignition off and will show remote start activated, open then close door and arm the alarm and ccar shuts down.
The logic is if the car iis running and you have exited the car (door opened then closed) the car has to be in neutral and will allow remote start.
There is a clutch neitral switch that can be hooked up to allow the clutch press on normal starts but it isn't necessary
Hope this clears tthings up for you guys.
