ditching mmcs for car pc
solder other ends of wires to push button.
end soldering.
before putting the circuit board away make sure you wrap it with the black plastic thin thin cover thingy (youll see it when you disassemble), this way noithing comes in contact with anything.
ALso make sure your solder joints are good, my first attempt was weak and 5 months later the wires broke off and when i pushed my push button i shorted two points on the board the wires happened to be touching and it fried the circuit...had to get a new face plate off ebay for about 45.00.
Update:
Got the MMCS sold on EBAY for 1200 and I'm shipping it out today. I am piecing together my new car pc now here is what I have to far:
Zotact Atom 330 with ION
64GB SSD
2 GB DDR3
Slim Slot Loading DVD/RW
Black Box mobile case for Car PC (has all the needed hookups for audio and screen power)
M2-ATX PSU
Connected HD AM/FM/HD tuner with wires and Serial-to-usb
USB SiRF III GPS Receiver
Lilliput EBY701-NP 7" Touchscreen
Double DIN Lilliput 701/629 Monitor Frame
MITO-02 to hook sound card to RF system (Woot)
Scosche Dash kit.
Edit: +$40 for the OBDii for CAN bus
Shipping included = 1035.35
I really want to use an 8" screen and fore-go the Double Din mounting bracket and fill out the whole opening but I don't know the exact measurements of the scosche opening.
Lancer0220 - could you measure the opening on the scosche? I don't like the massive space on the right side of these double din adapters.

Ok so this has turned into a real nightmare.
Got the computer hooked up and everything under the passenger seat. Had to take out the sensor bracket under the seat and attach them directly to the seat to make it fit.
o i'm having issues making the damn thing sleep when i turn the car off. I think its the wiring.
hd radio serial to usb didn't work had to buy a different one.
MITO-02 doesn't want to turn on when I turn the car on, have it hooked up to the m2-atx amp turn on, have to unplug the adapter and replug it back in after car is turned on to get the amp to turn on.
This is ending up costing way more than originally planned, audio cable here, serial cable there, extra wires over there.
/end rant

sorry to sorta necro. but really curioius on where you ended up. I'm VERY interested in this. if things are on the UP and UP, any pictures of the install?
No updates... unfortunately this happens with many, many CarPC installs. Nothing goes 100% as planned. I installed a CarPC in my old Infiniti FX35 and that was working flawlessly for about a week, and then things weren't doing what they should have and it just ended up a nightmare of wiring issues and hybernating/power-up/shutdown debacles.
I would NOT recommend trying out CarPC setup in a good car. Get started with a beater and discounted/used goods at half the performance you're expecting in your good car. Once you work out all the bugs and learn from mistakes, make the move to installing a top notch setup in your good car.
This is something I wish I did before hacking into my beautiful Infiniti.
Good luck nonetheless!
