Updating MMCS version?

Updating MMCS version?
so i've read around for a bit regarding updating the app version on the MMCS...there's ample info on updating the map data, but i see version numbers thrown around a lot, and no mention on how to update. so can i get a quick clarification - does the nav update kit update the app version as well?

That is just the update for the Gracenote music database.
You'll get a newer nav version depending on the manufacturing date on the car. The map update will update your nav version too - but only if the update is newer than then version you already have in the car.
