if you got the money, get the 9500ix, if not the x50 works good. i used to have the x50 then upgraded to the 9500ix. it has saved me many times. laser jammer is next on my list of "traffic alerts"...lol the 9500ix is internet upgradeable.... which means when speed traps, red light cameras and such are registered, when you update yours all the new locations will be uploaded to yours and any yours finds will send to data base at same time.... with 9500ix, if you pass same spot 3x it automatically locks out signal, only time you will ever hear from it again in that exact spot is if there real cop there. it uses gps chip for this reason. if you know for fact it is false reading like from CVS, Walgreens and any auto door opener on any store you can manually lock it out. i have mine mounted under mirror with a blend mount ad hard wired ... the escort power cord i fabricated into one of the phantom switches next to sawc controls on dash.

Thanks for the info ArmySoldier.

From what I understand, the CI uses the same technology as the IX but it's an integrated solution with sensors separated from the brains, rather than something stuck on my window glass for someone to see.

I'm obviously not going to use it in DC or Va, cause that would be against the law.
But if I were, I'd get the CI.

This guy did it on an X, but I think I could mount the sensors much more stealthy, that is, if I were going to use it in those states and didn't want it seen by the police:

yes they are illegal in those states, but both the CI and 9500ix cant be "seen" by police radar detector detectors... mine is under my mirror, been pulled over and not one cop seen it. message me your phone number(if you want) and i will send you pics of it and power cord mount... they on my iphone.

I've had the 9500ix for a month now and i'm satisfied so far. Love the ability to update online via USB and how it merges the traffic camera/speed camera databases. Also GPS, locking out false signals, etc, etc...as armysoldier already stated.

Ok, so I've been doing way more research on this than I should the last 2 days.

The Beltronics STiR Plus is just a rebranded Escort Passport 9500ci but a lot cheaper and without the inferior ZR4 laser jammers that come with the Escort.

Pair the STiR plus with the "Laser Interceptor" jammers (best on the market today)

Then apply "Veil G4" coating for the headlights and buy "laser-shield" license plate covers.
This cuts the effective laser lock on range by over half, plenty of time to reduce speed.

This is a lot of investment and is geared towards making a completely stealth install that combats radar AND laser (popular in a lot of areas now), but if you want the absolute best, this is the way to do it.

i thought a lot of people debunked the functionality of a "passive" anti-laser system?

I have the V1 and love it, has saved me a ton of times.

I like the directional arrows, not having to wonder where the hell the cop is coming from is nice.

P.S. in VA they use a Radar Detector that detects if your using a radar and you get pulled over anyway so don't bother trying to hide it

the higher end radar detectors are not able to be "seen" by the police radar detector finders. if you do run one at your own risk, if you haappen to get pulled over, before he is right on your but reach up and take it out of the window.... suction cups and all. they will have to visually see it in the window. the way mine is mounted you dont know it is there unless you put your face on winshield and look under my mirror.. and att he angle most cops look into your car, they cant see it up there anyway. i also have a sun visor tint on the top part of my windshield... my detector sits slightly below that as to not block reception. but use at your own risk as with anything.

Does this Veil G4 and laser-shield license cover business actually work?
