Passenger Side speaker Problem

Hey guys a few days ago my passenger side speaker started to act weird and now it sounds really bad, it sounds like its blown. Ive been doing research on other forums and many evo x owners are having this issue with that speaker, many say that its not the speaker but the radio unit its self. Question is has anybody else had this problem?

I want to take it to Mitsubishi for warranty but as you can see in my signature im modded and once they see that they will void my warranty, even tho their is no way in hell my mods could of affected my audio.

What do you guys suggest?

Yeah, I've seen others have the same problem and had the stereo itself replaced under warranty.

Technically, the dealership really can't void your warranty in its entirety. For example, if you blew your engine cause of a bad tune or something, anything normally covered by your 5-year drivetrain warranty might be denied, but a broken radio should still be covered by your 3-year basic warranty.

On the other hand, there's a possibility that the dealership might be jags and make notes of your mods, even though they really shouldn't be when replacing a stereo.

Maybe unmarry the AP and re-install the stock cat, and hope they ignore or are comfortable with the rest?

Im afraid to go ask because they might start saying blah blah this and somehow deny my warranty you know how dealerships are, the best thing im thinking on doing is going with a pioneer double din and replacing the stock unit.

Plus knowing my local Mitsubishi here they might -_-
I bought my evo at south coast and they are way more easier on mods, the thing is i dont have that amount of time to drive 3 hours away

3 hour drive to SCM isn't too bad to get a new stereo..

but yeah, it's a good excuse just to buy a new navi or something

I've been busy doing photoshop mock-ups with different dash kits, waiting for the new Alpines to drop..
