subs problems

So I just got two 12" kenwood subs with a 1000w amp installed a few weeks ago without a capacitor..for now. But I'm having a problem that after a while of music at about mid volume the subs or amp cut out for a while. I'm a bit of a newb to cars so please bear with me. And I drive a 2010 lancer es. Wondering if anyone can help

Bad connection. Does all the power cut out or does everything stay on? I would say remote turn on is prob loose if the power stays on but everything quits working. Rattle from the subs is moving the wire causeing it to go in and out. I would start with checking all your connections.

i havent noticed if the power goes out yet, because i have the amp in the trunk with my subs. i thought it might be overheating too, so i have my seat down. the next time if it cuts out i'll check to see if it's on or not

Ok lets start from the beginning. What size wire you have running from the battery to the distribution block to the amp? Anything less then 4 guage rip it out and start over. Your amp could have overheat pertection idk. Depends on what amp it is, and what class it is.

Does the amp automatically turn back on or does it stay off? What happens when it dies? How does it come back on?
