USB Audio Issue

2011 gsr, stock radio, non-navi.

whenever i shut the car off then turn it back on, the car forgets which song was last playing and starts again at song number 1. This never used to be the case. I am using an 8gb flash drive but I'm well under the song and folder limits specified in the owners manual. there doesn't appear to be any other files on the drive other than mp3/wma and folders. I've tried formatting the drive, cutting down the track list to only half of the songs i want, etc and nothing seems to work. I'm starting to think its the usb drive itself since it was pretty cheap and now several years old.

any thoughts/suggestions? I've tried searching but couldn't find anyone with a similar issue. thanks in advance.

Justin
