USB with Rockford issue
USB with Rockford issue
Anyone have a problem with the USB always starting back at song one everytime you get in the car? Also the random turns off. It started one day out of no where. Before that it would pick up with whatever song I left off at.

Definitely does.
Im starting to think it's my USB flash drive. I tried a microSD card with a card reader and that doesn't restart at the beginning. Going to buy another USB drive and test with that.

I have the same issue and more. Starts at song 1, but half of my songs wont play off my iphone through the car.... dont know why. I cant even pick a band and have it play through a cd, it has it's own mind. It won't pick up my itouch which p***** me off... also, I have an '11 GSR non-SS but it says on my cd player it's a 6cd player, but i def don't think it is. I cant get any other cd's in there, lol. And yes the sound is awful, you cant hear anything until the vol is at 22 or w/e. It's weird.
Found a fix but I haven't tried it since I'm not having the issue so far.
Others have this issue too:

I've had this happen before and came across a fix last year on some other forums.
You'll need 3 other USB devices to correct this such as 3 different USB flash drives. I bought 3 cheap ones off of Amazon/Newegg. Take any MP3 file that is longer than 30 seconds in length and place it on the flash drive do this with the other 2 drives as well. When I did this, each flash drive I used was a different brand and each music file I used was different. Once this is done, place a USB drive/device in the glove box, let it read and play the first 30 seconds of the song, then remove the USB drive and plug in the next one and have it play that track for 30 seconds, finally plug in the last USB drive and let it play 30 seconds. Now plug in your original USB drive and it *should* be fixed and remember where you left off.
If this doesn't work, you'll have to re-format your USB drive. I'd recommend cutting and pasting the files from your USB drive before formatting it. I'd also recommend doing a "quick" format. Once it's formatted, you can cut and paste the files you moved back to the drive.
Hope this helps!

I found the information about cycling the 3 USB devices on http://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/ back in 2011. Someone discovered or found out through Mitsubishi that the Fuse system remembers the past 3 devices which is why cycling of devices is recommended.
Even when I did that once, and it didn't help, I found another post that mentioned re-formatting the drive was the only choice.
