2009 Lancer iPod Cable

I just bought a 2009 Lancer GTS and they added a couple things for me for free. One of the things they said they would add would be the iPod adapter. When I went to pick up the car they said that the part does not fit the port. They were very unclear about what the part was or what it did. I assume its the iPod adapter that cost $217(CND) on the accessories list that shows up on the Eclipse. He told me he would add some other things for free as well as 4 oil changes to compensate the cost of the iPod "thing", and told me to go buy one.

Does anyone know if you can connect an iPod to the Rockford Fosgate stereo in the 09 Lancer? and does this allow you to control the iPod as well (ie, changing songs...)

MZ608561 should be the part number for the ipod cable. Supposedly it uses the "S-video" port on the back of the mmcs navigation unit. Its supposed to charge your ipod and allow you to skip tracks and stuff from the controls on the mmcs and the steering wheel mounted controls. I haven't used it before but it seems cool. If you don't have a navigation unit I think the only other option is a red/white/black wire that connects to your radio that has a 3.5 mm jack that goes into your headphone port on your ipod.

I have an 08 GTS with sun&sound. You just connect your mp3 or Ipod through a 3.5mm - RCA jacks just under your deck in the little storage area there. You may see a flap and have to flip it up. Otherwise yeah you have to plug it into the back of the deck or nav unit.
