I'm not worried about it. Honestly does not bother me the way it sits as is in my vent. There is not an air gap or anything that I can see under the overhang, it just has an overhang.

Look at the pics on this page:

two - do you think it is a lighting thing, I noticed I took pictures with the flash and illuminated the small overhang at the top. It's hard for me to tell, but As long as the four main clips fully engage upon vent assembly I think it must be sitting flush against the front.
with mine its pretty clear that its not fully seating into the clips that the old vent louvers were in. its like its not setting all the way forward and down.

Normally in most cases the gap I have would not bother me, but the way its seated makes it lean back and harder to read than it would if it were flush. I think I'll just have to take it apart and try again.

I currently have the AEM UEGO for my AFR Gauge. To upgrade to the VBG1 and use it to read AFR I would still need the AEM gauge itself since it acts as the controller? Or is there a way I can eliminate the AEM all together?

VBG1 is compatible with the following afr monitoring systems:

 Innovate Motorsports LC-1,
 AEM 30-4100 UEGO
 Zeitronix Zt-2 or Zt-3
 PLX SM-AFR

The PLX, LC-1 and Zeitronix offer stand alone operation. Since the control electronics is built into the UEGO 30-4100 - stand alone operation is not an option.

I hope to upgrade the firmware soon to the VBG1 to allow further compatibility with UEGO gauges and afr monitoring systems.

Currently the AEM 30-4100 UEGO has the same analog output AFR/voltage ratios as the LC-1. That is the reason only this UEGO AFR system is compatible thus far.

Are you planning on making one that'll fit EVO 8/9 as well? I posted it in the other thread as well. Very interested in this as I like the stealth install of this.

If you need beta testers for EVO 9, sign me up, ready to buy and try this out!

Still thinking about making this fitment of the VBG1 for the evo 8/9 generation.

I'm wondering how hard it will be for you guys to install in the center vent, is that hard to remove?

It doesn't seem to be complicated, I was tempted to pick up a spare one to see if it'll work

Keep us updated for sure, definitely interested in getting one if it's offered for the 8/9

Let me know if you want to get the dremel out and tackle this. I'm interested in adapting one of these for a IX and would like the opportunity to scope this out in person!

Could also bring the mobile detail kit

center vent is pretty easy to get to i believe, the vent on the right side would also be a nice spot. not as visible but I like how it's hidden more than being smack-dab in the middle

Interested in this, and only about 30 min away from Arlington. Still looking for beta testers / guinea pigs? I did some preliminary testing on a similar unit in the 3000GT VR4 community and provided some feedback that later became features.

I'd love to get rid of the steering column boost gauge, and turbo timer (for voltage readout) - both were installed on the car when I got it, and I don't care for them at all......

Let me know, thanks!

However we are sold out right now.

Please visit www.gtboostgauge.com for more pics.

Should have more back in stock soon
