Replaced the entire MMCS system
Replaced the entire MMCS system
I'm so glad to be rid of the MMCS. Here's an abreviated list of what I've done:
Kenwood DNN990 head unit.
Mito-02 harness adapter
iDatalink Maestro SW (retains steering wheel button functionality with aftermaket radios - works great)
Focal speakers in front and rear.
Custom MDF ring adapters for mounting made of 1/2" MDF and 3/4" MDF screwed and glued together. See the japanase Alpine speaker adapters for an idea on how to build.
14 ga speaker wire run to all doors and sub.
6 channel Stinger RCA cable
JLAudio HD900 amp mounted in trunk. 4ga wire run from battery to amp.
Custom sub box with 12" JL sub.
American International Mitk894
It sounds 100 times better and the stereo actually functions now.

Best part of this build is I didn't have to mess with ripping the factory stuff apart. I can easily swap it back to stock with minimal effort.
I saw people epoxying tweeters in their door panels. That's just dumb. I made a simple bracket that'll allow me to remove them if necessary.

question? the iDatalink Maestro SW
is there a specific version of this.
I was looking on their website and when i put our car steering wheel it did not find a part compatible?
I also plan on getting an APP RADIO 3? will this work with this setup.???
Are you using the car's bluetooth mic? or the radio mic with this setup?
Thanks in advance for any info

This is what you want:

Not sure what App radio 3 is.
Kenwood replaced the factory bluetooth with a new mic as well. I put the new mic where the factory one is.
