Hi, first I will start with a photo of the back of the MMCS just like the one I have..



I have seen other photos where there are more connections (No. 1 & 2 in the photo are empty and other models are not).

My questions are:
1. What are those connections for (which I don't have in my unit) and can I add them?
2. What is No. 3 in the photo for? I have a harness installed there but don't know what its for, and I bought a backup camera and the harness is identical to it.
3. Most important, can I install an Ipod adapter with this unit? Because I bought the adapter but it doesnt fit anywhere in the unit.

#3 is the connector that the backup camera will connect to. it provides power to/signals form the camera to the MMCS display. The backup camera screens will automagically appear once a functional camera is connected.

Mitsu sells the harness with the connectors on it. about $50/US last time I priced it.

Direct plug-in to the MMCS with the harness running to the trunk lid. You will need to adapt to attach to your camera.

 

No, the wiring harness for the audio. Bought one used and the guy spliced the wires and there is no audio but the rest of the system works
