Speakers cut off!
So I went ahaid and installed Memphis speakers. I was told to bridge the HF and LF or whatever their called so that's what I did. I installed the drivers side and turned it on and it worked fine. Went to the passenger side and did the same exact thing and now I get no sound at all! Wtf??? All wires are hooked up nothing touching.
Not sure if you're running a stock or aftermarket stereo setup, but it sounds like either you blew a fuse on either the stereo, or the amp.
Might also be possible that you just blew all 4 speakers at once, but that seems unlikely.
Why did you bridge the high-pass & low-pass speaker outputs to your new speakers?? I'm really not sure the correct solution, since I don't know your exact setup, but I can't imagine re-mixing hp & lp signals being a good idea.
If you have the regular Evo stereo (with tweeter/woofer and no outboard amplifier) I'm pretty sure the full signal carries to the woofer and is then split from there. That is the point you should connect to either fullrange speakers or to the new crossover (if separates). If you have factory amplifier, then the signal is split at the amp (if I remember correctly), and you should be using separates without a new crossover. Also, I think the factory amp & Fosgate speakers use an odd impedance (something other than 4ohm, which your Memphis speakers probably are).. so there might be an issue there.
In any case, good luck!
