Using the radio without an amplifier.

I have GSR with the Rockford Fosgate system (no navigation)

I would like to remove the OEM amplifier under the seat, but retain the radio sound.
Is there a wire/ harness that I need to be able to use the radio without an amplifier?

Thanks!

The oem amp has two harness plug. One output side and the other is the input side. Connect the output side to the input side. Make sure u identify the power wire and ignition wire first. Good luck.

Correct there are 2 wires/ harness input to the amp and output from the amp like you mentioned. So I can just connect the 2 harness plugs together?

I do not know anything about stereo/ audio systems; I just want to lose the amp weight.
“Make sure u identify the power wire and ignition wire first” what do you mean by this? Are these other wires?, are these part of the harness?
Thanks!

The head unit only has two channel out put wire which leads back to one of the harness that plugs into the amp. However, the other harness contains the speaker wires. The amp then will split it into a six channel or seven channel for the subwoofer option. You need to id the wires from the DIY thread on the forum and combine the four speaker wires into the two channel output wire. Do not hook up the tweets unless u have a passive crossover to filter out the low frequency because it will blow the tweets.

I guess I will put it back in… it was about 4 lbs anyway.

what? no!
it's a signal wire not an amplified output, and if you combine 4 speaker wires into one output, you will get a .25ohm load and fry the headunit.
