Hey guys! I recently noticed my sub woofer seems to no longer be amplified. Everything sounds normal as it usually does just the sub is MUCH quieter than it used to be.

I took a look and the speaker seems fine, I can only assume the amp is the issue but then I'm not huge into car audio, well at least not anymore! It's been way too long and I definitely don't want to go guessing and breaking the electrical system in the car.

I've checked the fuse under the hood for the amp and its definitely still in tact. Any ideas? I'm clueless where to go besides swapping to aftermarket stuff. Which I'd love to do but just cant afford it.

 

One of the voice coil is probably burnt.

 

there could be multiple causes for this. before buying/replacing anything test the subs voice coils for proper impedance. This is easily done with most mulitmeters, and if you dont have one/dont know what im talking about, any KNOWLEDGEABLE stereo shop should be able to test it.
