ETACS-ECU Replacement
ETACS-ECU Replacement
So my ETACS unit is acting up (fails in cold weather) and I bought a used replacement online. My question is, has anyone replaced theirs before? I'm pretty sure the immobilizer resides in there as well as some other programming. I have an OpenPort 2.0 and ETACS Decoder so I'm hoping I can pretty much duplicate the ROM onto the new unit. Anyone have any insight?
For future readers:
Replaced the ETACS and I only had to program the VIN number in with ETACS Decoder. It pretty much self configured itself. (used an ETACS from an MR which relearned itself for my GSR)
Oh and I replaced this because my dash would freak out and the car would refuse to start at random points (immobilizer kicked in) so I swapped the ETACS thinking that was the case. Turns out ECU pin 90 was bent
