New speakers, highs distortion
New speakers, highs distortion
Hello,
I have recently changed the stock speakers to Hertz ECX 165.5 and the audio is worse for some reason. The highs are very distorted, even at low-ish volume (28-30 out of 42 if I remember correctly). It distorts so much that it's like someone talks in a bad mic where the "s" hurts. The bass and meds are fine. If I want to make the highs bearable I have to put the equalizer with the highs way down -- unacceptable since the sound is completely changed.
Is it because the stock HU is bad ? someone told me plugging a good dac-amp on the aux input could make the sound better, is this true (and obviously using it instead of bluetooth)? If not, is there anything I can do besides changing the HU? It's pretty expensive and most of them look really bad aside from the expensive touch screen ones.
Thanks
