LED Footwell Illumination
LED Footwell Illumination
It’s been a while since I posted on these forums, considering that active members are sparse, but after constant reading/searching to no avail, I’m just going to throw this out here and hope for the best that it catches...
So originally I wanted to install better LED’s for my footwell as the OEM Illumination Kit leaves a LOT to be desired. Either way, I was able to connect my LED’s to the door trigger wire, but unfortunately my LED lights only turn on when I open my driver side door... I want it to be activated when any of the 4 doors are opened. I also noticed that the dim function that the dome light and OEM LED’s use, is completely absent on my customer LED’s. The moment I close my driver’s door... the lights turn off.
So how would I go about finding the correct door trigger wire? As it isn’t listed it... also what more do I have to do to have it dim correctly...

I'm pretty sure the interior lights are CANBUS controlled. So your trigger is telling the body control module what to do with the lights separately from your circuit. You could tie into the power feed for one of the existing lights but you could have issues if you draw too much current. I have no idea what those limits are so proceed with caution.
