You won't need an MBC if you want to keep your car running pump gas. If you would like to run methanol injection or do anything else, it may be a good idea.

hey I was just wondering, does a ECUtek tune pass emissions?

My question wasn't actually I guess whether I NEED an MBC but if it would be beneficiary? Will it taper boost less with an MBC+tune rather than just tune alone? Will I still have the gains that all the people running MBCs have?

Its always hard to tell exactly what is going to happen to each car when you tune it. So far, from my experience, I have not seen a large difference between controlling boost with the stock solenoid and having a manual boost controller installed. Because of manufacturing tolerances and differences in pieces in the 'as built' form, I can't tell you exactly what boost level you are going to be running. Most of the time it has been about a 24psi spike, which tapers to about 16-17psi.

Your car *may* benefit from using an MBC. If it were my car, I'd leave it off for now, and install one on the dyno if it is found to be necessary.

As far as the emissions go, yes, you should be able to pass emissions with no issues. All of the readiness tests are still being done and as long as you don't create any check engine lights with the modifications that you do, you will be fine.

As I am new to the turbo seen and mitsu alone. What is needed before I tune, as in, am I going to need a tuning device, or is it just a flash?

You don't need to bring in anything for your tune. All you need is your car and some time to have us tune it. We have the software, the dyno, and the tuning experience to get you set up just right
