If you touch the maf wire inside the intake or install it improperly, it could cause issues.

Since you already pulled the code, try and clear the code.
Idling @ 2k usually means its in limp mode.

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect it.

i tried disconnectin battery but didnt solve the problem. they ordered a new maf sensor so ill get it back as soon as they get the part. the amazing thing is they didnt care about my mods(drop in,uic pipe, catback). if you dont want to go to a dealership you can buy a rebuilt maf sensor through autozone. or you can follow this link

Sounds like limp mode.

I have the HKS drop-in and I don't have any codes or issues.

It's bad MAF sensor. I've just had this code and sam symptoms. Clearing code didn't help. Turned out to ba bad MAF sensor.
It appears to be a common problem for Evo X

I have EXACTLY the same mods by my MAF is fine thus far. No codes.

If my MAF busts I wonder if they will deny me a new one if I have my mods and a tune?

most likely since your aftermarket parts could easily be deemed the culprit. However, if they don't know you are modified... throw the stock intake and go in. It's a little sketchy on your part, but I know of a few people who do that when warranty-able issues come up.
