AP from Dynoflash, did not receive maps (resolution in progress)

A warning about anyone buying the AP from DynoFlash. Don't! I made the mistake of buying from Al when the AP just came out in end of November. Back then, he said he was going to provide a custom map for the AP for any customer that bought from him (based on the specific mods that the customer had). The custom map would be added to the AP before shipping overnight.

Well, the AP arrived quickly, but it was missing the custom map. I called him and he said he was still working on it and that it would be emailed to me. That was more than 3 weeks ago. All PMs and emails I have sent him have been duly ignored.

Buschur Maps for Buschur Parts must be sold through Buschur at 440-839-1900

I'm sure you will get the maps. Just be patient you don't want a rushed incomplete map sent to you.

I hope and I'm sure Al will make good on his promise for additional maps. It is however unacceptable that he hasn't responded to your attempts at communication.

When the Access Port came out I ran a special to 10 customers only which provided with the retail price purchase of the Access Port I would

1 - Provide an access port

2 - Provide free overnight shipping

3 - Provide a free Dyno Flash base map for the Acess Port match to the customers existing modifications

I gave one (1) of the ten a map thus far - (9) are outstanding.

When I recieved my first batch of Access Ports and installed one in a customer's car I ran into some unexpected difficulties with transfering my Ecutek based maps into the Access Port. Also Cobb was informing me of some updates that they would be making to the pro tuner in a short while.

Rather than send out maps which I am not confortable with and not fully conifdent with sending out I have asked the 9 customers to wait while I have a chance to test the maps on a couple of more cars.

I have just today recived another update from Cobb with a further revised update to the pro tuner and I am going to look it over and continue to work on my maps over the holiday.

To the OP and the remnaing 8 - I will need your AP serial number to key my Dyno Flash map to when I email it to you so if you have a chance please email or PM me your serial number and also any revisions to your mods you may have done in the last couple of weeks.

I appologize for the delays in creating the maps, but I prefer to err on the side of caution to assure that what I send out represents me well.

In the meantime the Cobb suplied base maps may be used as I have seen great results with them.

BTW - the best way to reach me by far is to call me. Since we have spoken on this matter already by phone I assumed that you understood that I am working on the matter.

Also, I have just previosuly replied to your email a short time before I came here. Its funny as the reason why I came here was to post an update about my maps so that the other 8 guys could read it and know what was going on.

It would be all to easy to put together some BS map and just send it out but I take what I do very seriously and I sadly have encountered unexpected set backs in using the application which have delayed my implimentation.

If my map was not a free map I would have simply refunded your money to resolve the situation.

I was hoping that Al would come in here and post a reply. I've never bought anything from him, but just from reading his posts, I have always thought of him as a good salesperson. He is a very busy man and you can't really expect to get immediate service when you call. He isn't a giant service chain with 500 employees waiting to answer the phone and help you.

Thanks for your input.

I try my best to respond to all inquires as quickly as possible, however, physically often it can be almost impossible to mantain all of life's duties and respond to all the questions that I recieve. I greatly appreciate all the comradery and society with many of my fellow Evo owners but often in a day I may recieve 20 or so PM's totally unrelated to any business at all - just general tech questions and comments - like "Al which BOV should I get?" or "My local shop said they want $1,800 to install an alcohol kit is that fair?" I try my best to answer them all I get here and on the various other message boards I am part of and also on my You Tube channel which seems to be taking more and more of my time.

This is why for important matters the best soultion is to call me directly - I am usally best to reach in the evening hours east coast time from 6 pm to 1 am - as I am right at this momemt tuning a car. During the day is often hard as we often have many customers on hand at the shop and often its rude to take a phone call when dealing with a customer.

At the end of the day I consider myself blessed to share my passion for turbo awd cars with so many dedicated and passionate hobbiests and fellow tuners.

I guess my problem is this. Why did you make a promise about custom maps delivered to customers when you couldnt deliver on that promise?

And since you did run into problems, what resolutions did you take with the customers to fix the problem or compensate them for failing to satisfy on your promise?

Al,

I sent you two PM's, both business related. I want to BUY an AP from you and travel to your shop to get custom tuned. Another forum member recently got tuned through Cobb in Plano, TX and he held boost like a mad man- i believe spiked 27 held 24- redline and 21 to revlimiter. He used a boost pill and i was curious if you have them in the shop and can tune for them? I think his results are phenomenal that boost was held that well with the AP and i want the same! Please if you could get back to me that would be great- if you would prefer i call please just let me know what number to reach you at.

My suggested resolution is to continue to work to incorporate my existing ecutek map library into the cobb access port pro tuner. I have not given up hope - I have simply delayed the implementation.

I am hoping with the holiday down time to have the remaing 8 maps competed and emailed to the 8 customers by the end of the month.

BTW - just a reminder - I will need the serial numbers of each customer's access port before I can release the map to key it to the access port.

The "problems" that arose where unexpected.

I made a professional decision to delay my release of the maps to make sure that no one had a serious problem like a blown motor opr other issue. The bottom line is I was not comfortable with what I was seeing when working with the pro tuner. I prefer to wait and test some more.

Cobb contines to work on and improve its product and I am continuing to test and work on implementing the support of the access port mapping by Dyno Flash

Since I offered you the map as a free bonus including the free shipping I query how you would like me to compensate you in this matter other than what I have already suggested?

Everytime i have done any business with Al, I have had nothing but positive results. He is a great vendor and does good work.

As far as it goes with your situation I know it sucks to wait on a protune, but the AP has maps. I guess you will just have to ask urself if u want a quality tune, or a tune thats going to knock ur car to hell? Just be patient bro
