Great! Now post up those pictures so we can see. Add to the how to section. I dont believe one has been posted on catch-can for the X as of yet.

Two options to do it you choose your method!

A-PCV location

B-blowby from crank vent

Picture where hose enters air intake past MAF. Either exhaust hose here or vent to air, also your choice.

Ok Guys (evo X stock):
Good news for you

I tried my Cusco Catch can on Option A for 15 days.
It doesn't buildup enough oil on the can to justify the installation of such a heavy and wasted space Modification. Barely a little sugar spoon in 15 days.
the little amount of oil colected wasn't even bad burned or bad smelly

test was done under hevy driving, long high rpms revs, Highway high speed, slow and heavy trafic, cold and hot weather, everything posible.
i used 1000 psi ranked braid hoses and high performance clamps from summit racing.com to install it

I’m not posting any picture because the experiment really fails on option A.
Next week I’m connecting the catch can to Option B

I come from V8 American cars where you can easily see in 15 days five or six soup spoons of nasty and smelly burned oil buildup on the catch cans, which really justify the use of catch cans.

I start thinking that we really don't need such catch cans until we add some serious Mods.

Thx for letting us know about option A. Keep us informed about Option B as I want to do this mod too. If not necessary I'll blow money elsewhere.

I will
As you see option b has two sub options
Or we connect the can both entrances (to the exhaust and CAI)
Or just one exit to the exhaust and we connect a little air filter to the second oil can entrance

I have all the hardware ready
Will keep posting as soon I have some results

Okay guys, i have torn this car apart already (turbo Upgrade) When we pulled the stock upper intercooler piping, to upgrade our turbo. I couldnt help notice that there were quite a bit of oil on the intake as it comes into the turbo. YES I would highy reccomend an oil catch can for the evo x. however, the oil did not reach to the intake manifold. But if it did, it would not have been good. We thought that the oil was so thin that it passed throug the oil seal, but long and behold it came from the OPTION B. After all we are upgrading everything so now we have decided to go to 10w30 rather than 5w30. But we will see how things work but thank you for the guys that contributed to this thread for it was helpful.

If you are seeing that much oil, something else is wrong.

The only way to hook one up propperty is to come off block or valve cover..pick one only. Run a line from block/vavle cover to the can...then on other other port is to run a line from the intake of the turbo to the can. Under boost the turbo will suck out the pressure if any (blowby) and it will help seat the rings. Having the vented can only allows the pressure to push its on self out. Image this.. you have a straw filled with water. If you blow the water out its kinda of hard. but if you blow at one end and suck at the other the water comes out alot quicker, easier and faster.

vented catch cans are used for vacuum pumps...IE cars with nitrous or a wild cam and big CI
