Bolt ons w/ no tune

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my own question already but I wanted to ask if the X has issues with bolt ons an no tuning. I know that Subies usually require tuning after exhaust/intake etc or it'll run like crap. Feedback and insight would be most helpful. Thanks!

Nope you can bolt on turboback exhausts, intakes, FMIC's and the like without tuning. Hello I even installed an FP Red turbo with no tuning although I did run a manual boost controller to set boost until I did get the software working correctly. No I just run the factory selenoids.

T1R notes that a tune is very recommended after installing the O2 housing DP. Other than that, I haven't come across anything else.

Its fine to run without a tune with DP, you just won`t realize the full potential gains.

DP should be fine, they just state O2/DP.

"Note: ECU tuning is strongly recommended! The T1R O2 Housing - Down Pipe can cause overboosting, which needs to be addressed through tuning."

I don't know, I just thought I'd mention it since I had just recently read it while shopping for exhaust. I don't know if it would be bad enough to cause any noticeable difference.

basic bolt ons should be fine i even did cams on my 8 without tuning. But i wouldnt reccommend going wot or any spirited driving untill youre tunned.

Fuel injectors is where you draw the line pending on how big the injectors are the car wont really run most of the time it will just die out from all the extra fuel...

The stock AFR is very rich which allows for modifications that lean out the car to a certain extent. Wideband AFR monitoring in any case is always recommended.

I'm still on stock pump and injectors with my FP Red. Stock cat back still too although hopefully this weekend I'll get my new one welded up. 22 PSI and AF is steady at 11.5-11.2:1. Ran the Red and O2/downpipe/Test pipe as is for a while. No problems but again, had manual boost control temporarily.
