Who would be affraid to have the car run better? I would be affraid to let my uncle Cleetus tune my car if he didn't know what he was doing, but everyone should get the most out of their car, by getting it tuned from a reputable tuner..... Nice Viper Western man!

I'm afraid because of warranty reasons. But I might do it anyway just so I can get more out of a tank of fuel. The EVO X runs too damn rich in stock form (to the point where its wasting gas). If the dealer didn't know about an ECU flash I would have already done it.

I'm still untuned. But it's only because, everytime I get the money to get tuned I need the money for something else. I have'nt bought my test pipe yet so I didn't want to tune yet, then I needed a new clutch so, by by test pipe and tune.

I had the same worries; went with an Accessport tune and a CBE. I'll be flashing back to the stock tune before I take her in for the first service. The service manager already said he had no problem with the catback. The extra 68 WHP feels good

i can understand where your coming from. when Works tune my car it was great and at the same time afraid that something might break. they didnt somewhat around 10 pulls and she was screamin! but at the end it was all worth it.

I'm definitely being a little puss puss about getting a tune, because of warranty reasons. I think I'll just man up and get one by the end of the summer because of how badass it will make the car.

I threw my first CEL yesterday though, so that made me even more nervous about voiding the warranty...

If I could do the flashes myself, I wouldn't worry about it. Because then I could just put it back to stock map before taking it to the dealer.

I have a Tactrix that doesn't get much use. I wouldn't mind loaning it out if you wanted to try it out for a day.

Are you sure about this entry log? I have yet to read or hear of a single instance where dealer a has voided a warranty after detecting an aftermarket reflash, or from a check of the sum count (if that's possible.)

I've been running the WORKS P2 (which comes with a new boost pill) for ~3,000 miles.

I've never heard of this either... How exactly does it keep track of previous versions of the loaded software? Also, what evidence would it leave behind that the flash wasn't done by an authorized Mitsubishi dealer somewhere else?

so if you get your car flashed then reflashed back to stock before going to the dealer they wouldnt see what the other flash did? now wouldnt this be bad for the car if you kept reflashing the ecu?

The car just is a little too incomplete without the hp mistubishi left on the table. If you really wanted, you could find a second ECU to use without having to leave any electronic tell-tale (if it exists), but there would still be scratches on the connector to the computer, I'd imagine.

I'm worried about the warranty, but if I ran thru a clutch right away, I wouldn't be trying to scam the dealer out of one. You know as soon as subaru bumps the STI, Mitsu will just tweak a few parameters for 330hp or whatever.
