Evo X RS Mivec on Base Evo X?

Ive seen somewhere on forums that people used to use EVO 9 RS Mivec table in thier Evo 9's

Could you do the same with evo X? Or is it a nono. hehe

Can you hold of without tuning for a bit longer?

I am finding the need for more WOT power now

Yeah i am trying to learn as much as i can before i start playing around.
Offtopic, evoscan only seems to log Engine Speed, TPS and Battery level? or is it just me.

By that you mean letting throttle open up more then 85%?

Has anyone successfully used the RS map yet?

I thought i read that the JDM intake MIVEC map was a good starting point, but to leave the US exhaust MIVEC map as it produced the best numbers when combined with the JDM intake MIVEC. This was just an opinion. Maybe an expert will chime in and add credibility.

We are using EvoX RS JDM mivec intake and exaust tables in EDM EvoX.

We did loggs in PCM-scan - character of the schedule of the ignition timing - exactly increasing, without recoils. And listened ear-phones - the detonation is not present.

Full throttle power increases might be harder to lock down with changes, but for spoolup I've made made some more aggressive maps with success. You do want to have EvoScan running to verify no knock at spoolup and when the torque hits and then make slight reductions in the timing advance tables to account for the more aggressive Mivec settings. Mostly I'm near stock at WOT but the lower load spoolup portions are retarded exhaust and advanced intake for better spool.

4th gear at 2000 RPM and letting off when it hits 20 psi yielded a solid 250-300 rpm sooner spoolup so it definitely makes the car respond quicker and feels great on the stock turbo.

I'll see about posting the maps if you guys are interested, use at your own risk of course!

Did you stick with the US I/E mivec maps as a base to start from or did you use another combo?

I used a combination of the JDM, US warmup, and US normal maps as a baseline and then typically went an extra 5 degrees of retard on the exhaust and 5-10 degrees of advance on the intake where the turbo was spooling. There are many parts of the maps that will never be used so really the most important areas are between the cruise area which is 20-40% Load at 2500-4000 leading up to 220-260% Load at full boost between 2500-4500. Once at full boost the maps are pretty close to stock and I haven't had a chance to see if alterations there will buy anything over stock.

If you are worried about how aggressive the maps are you can start with just using the warmup maps as your main map and see how it goes. Otherwise be sure to datalog after replacing the warmup and main maps to make sure your timing advance isn't too aggressive during spoolup. I used these maps at Watkins Glen for 2 days of hard driving with no hint of knock so they worked well for me. After thorough datalogging I may have reduced timing 1 degree here and there as the turbo was spooling but that was just a safety measure. The changes in the 30-40% load cells may make the car feel too hyperactive, much depends on what you want for throttle response.

Enjoy but use these maps at your own risk as each car is different! Datalog, Datalog, Datalog!
