Evo X MR Factory Reflash

Just got my xMR serviced today. They replace the hood latch cable and reflashed the ECU. The TSB for the reflash is: TSB-13-006 REV III

The car doesn't feel any less powerfull than before (as some folks have mentioned after the reflash). The idle is much smoother as are the shifts in all three modes. Seems like an improvement to me. I have not driven it enough to report any MPG improvement yet.

Big props to Chris and Don in the Yonker Mitsubishi service dept.! They are really good guys who actually know what they are doing/talking about when it comes to EVOs. Never thought that was possible at a Mitsu dealer.

Here is the sticker they put under my hood after the reflash:

What thread are you referencing when you say people claim the car feels less powerful?

Thanks

Went to Hub Mitsubishi in northwest Houston but they wouldn't even do the reflash but replaced the cable soo pissed. Also asked to change the hud display service reminder to severe schedule because I change my oil every 3000mi, they were like we would have to charge you $60 to hook it up to the computer.

Nice. Not all dealerships are willing to or heard of the ECU reflash.

J. -- did they ask you if you wanted the reflash, or they just went ahead and did it. I have an AP and definitely wouldn't want them to reflash the ecu without asking me first.

Also, do you have any performance mods (like a catback or intake) and if so, did they mention anything about modding your car?

I had to ask them for the reflash; they didn't know about it. Intake, UICP and catback. They had no problems with my mods and actually were asking me questions about them for their own knowledge.

So I just called the Capitol Mitsubishi dealership to ask about the ECU flash. The service tech told me that the flash is to mitigate an "Electronic Throttle Control" issue that may cause the service light to go off. Is this the same Reflash, I mentions the TSB # that you posted and he said that it was the correct #. Could someone explain how this reflash would increase my MPGs? Thanks.
