How Long Does it Take to Tune a Evo X?

So I recently had an Ecutek tune with these mods:

Nisei UCIP
ETS LICP
AEM Intake
Custom Intercooler
Test Pipe
Greddy Exhaust

Then I am adding new mods:

Flywheel, clutch
Blouch Turbo
Cams
800 cc injectors

So after these new mods with an experienced tuner using Ecuflash how long should it take to tune?

Right now my tuner I am currently needs more than 2 days (with a AWD dynojet available) to tune, is that unreasonable?

Part of it depends on what other data you have available for similar setups done before the one you are tuning. Usually I find that some highway tuning at off hours can get you really close and then it only takes 1-2 hours to dial the car in after that on the dyno. I think getting boost and AFR sorted out to approximately what you want to run and adjusting timing to about 1 degree lower than where it starts increasing knock above the random 1-2 counts seems to work for me.

In other words, a day of tuning if you know what you are doing. The tuner is taking forever, my fear is that he is stumbling through the tune. When he is asking for another day to tune the car (a 3rd day) that doesn't inspire my confidence.

Hi,
I started tuning your car this morning. Got to work on it for a couple hours. I had two other tunes to do today. It will be done tomorrow. Everything is coming along fine. No need to panic. If I could only tune multiple cars at once. Hmm!

Tuning a car, with just bolt ons, for power, on a dyno, can be done in under an hour, certainly under two hours.

Tuning a car for daily drivability can take months

Buschur Racing tuned my car in less that 30 mins and it's my DD. I had them install all three stages availble from them for the X. With the extra mods you have added may take a little longer

Out of all honesty a full bolt-on evo x can take me 5-6 pulls after the baseline knowing it is safe and in reality can be done on the fly in 20 minutes.

It all depends on how familiar you are with a platform and how many setups you have previously tuned.

We tune 98% evos and 2% wrx/sti. We average between 15-20 evo tunes per week 75% of them being evo x's.

Having a solid foundation and base map prepared for a given setup will get you real close to where the car needs to be. A few more pulls on the dyno to fine tune timing and a/f are then performed to clean the graph up and make it: Smooth and Consistent.

We are still here on a Friday night at 12 a.m finishing up our last build and tune of the day on another evo.

You can expect 7-10 pulls after the baseline and a good hour of dyno time when we perform a tune on your basic bolt-on evo x using ecuflash.
