Evoscan or Cobb?

I use to have a cobb and money got tight so I sold it, I do miss the power that I got from it as well. I was reading on here and that some member were talking about the ignition values being high (running high ignitions) These evo had bolt on parts (turbo back, intake, that kind of thing)

I use to have a rsx-s and we used kpro (look alot like evoscan) my question is this true about the cobb ap? are there "base maps" with evoscan? is ecuflash the same as evoscan ? ( I read people saying ecuflash and then some saying evoscan)

thanks
D

You can either get another Cobb and have someone use it to provide you with a tune or you can buy a Tactrix cable to connect to a laptop and use ECUflash/Evoscan with it. Evoscan does logging and it can create a virtual dashboard on the laptop screen, etc. ECUflash is a program to read/write an image to the ECU.

If you want to tinker on your own or have one of the street tuners help you with a tune then the Tactrix/Evoscan/ecuflash combo is probably what you want. If you're going to have a professional dyno tune done then you don't need anything...if you want a professional tune and be able to switch back and forth between stock/tuned then you could easily do that with the Cobb (and it doesn't require a laptop).

Lots of options depending on how you plan to go (and what your tuner is familiar with).

As stated above, but Evoscan is a logging program only. You can't make adjustments to the ECU with it.

Evoscan is a datalogging program. EcuFlash is the ECU tuning program. If you have a Cobb AccessPort, you can download AccessTuner Race. This is also an ECU tuning program and has almost all the exact same ECU tables as EcuFlash.
