Question I am on the fence...ECUFlash with EVOSCAN Vs. COBB ATR

I have been reading up like crazy and can't decide which way to go. There are pros and cons both ways. The AP package is very easy to use, but the EcuFlash looks like it has some strong points as well.

The second question is which wideband is everyone using?? I don't want to add a gauge so I alike the AEM inline LED, but how do you guys import the data? Or do you just look at the gauge?

I would rather have a wideband that I could just download information from as opposed to mounting it in the car as a gauge.

It appears ECUflash may be cheaper, but does the "all in one" features of the AP outweigh it?

So ECUFlash with EVOscan or COBB with ATR??

Ecuflash /thread. As for the wideband, most people use the AEM UEGO.

Do you have a good local tuner you plan to use? If so, which do they prefer? If not, would you tune yourself or use OTS maps? Both are good choices, both have pros/cons. I've personally used both on my X and have a car tuned on each sitting in my garage.

I am going to do this myself. Start with OTS maps and then massage them myself. Only after careful data logging..lol High Risk High Reward

Well, you can go with ECUFlash/EvoScan and start from scratch or get the Accessport and start off a base OTS map and tweak as needed.

I have a very good understanding of engine performance, and am ASE master certified, but I am looking to learn this, not just for numbers, but to get a better understanding of engine mapping...does the AP software get into it that deep?

Yes, ECUFlash and ATR look and behave almost identically once you start viewing and editing tables.

Yes and no, depends on how well you know Cobb

The average person would be a yes on ECUflash.

I have never said this before, but unless you need Tephra mods, go with the Cobb.

Tephra works for Cobb now so you mind as well, lol. Tephra will prolly integrate his mods into the AP as well anyway.
