The evo X almost requires a tune after any modd. Once different load values are hit in the mivec/boost/timing/afr maps, everything is all out of wack.

Damn, so every time you put a new part on, you have to go to a dyno for tuning?

You dont have to, but it would be smart. I'm sure you can get away with it, lots have. But the car will run so much better/safer with a tune. I did run my car with a testpipe/catback for a while and also with an UICP/intake. But, the Speed Circuit intake utilizes the stock housing like I stated before and the car ran nice. However, I never upped the boost until I tuned my ecu for it.

You'll 100% need a tune if you replace the MAF housing with an intake that modifies the size of the MAF housing. If it uses the stock housing or keeps the dimensions the same, there isn't as much of a need.

And good looks on the speed circuit one Didn't

Best to do intake/exhaust mods first then get a tune that way you don't have to do it a bunch of times.

Do you mean MAP sensor? No boost leaks pre-turbo.

I thought it was the MAF sensor. Anyhow yes it was leaking air through the flange. After I sealed it, I did another boost leak test, and I was hitting 25+ psi as opposed to hitting my max of 23. Not too much temperature variance in between tests.

As far as Mitsubishi is concerned ANY aftermarket parts will void a warranty. But unless the part itself is the cause of an issue they shouldn't give you any issues at the dealer. Unless the service manager is a huge tool that is.

I love my Short Ram AEM intake it has a good feel and sound once you tune the car. The best thing about the AEM is that its discreet and also carb legal if you are looking into those factors.

I have their cold air intake and it utilizes the stock MAS housing. I love it and my intake temps are always ambient if not just a tad hotter. My cruise LTFT is at 1.9 with the stock latency values.

I am using this CAI as well. Love it.
