Help me make an economy map!
Help me make an economy map!
Hey all... i've read up on several of the tuning threads and such and since i've had this new issue with my stage 2 set-up eating up a bit more fuel and since the econ map on the AP is pretty much useless (sorry Cobb guys, you make a great product, but the map yields 0 gains in mileage) I thought maybe some of you tuners who understand this stuff more than me might pitch in and walk me through what I need to do. This would be an all econ map, I don't care about power, just so the engine runs ok and it's in any sort of danger of damage. If I could set the boost perhaps to not start to spool until later in the RPM range... say 3500-4000 would be fine... or even later... the boost can be turned down altogether. Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated! By the way, i'm working the the AP which you probably already know or saw, but it has most of what ECU flash has so just tell me which folder and such to change.
Thanks in advance all!

Great gains can be had just by changing your driving habits. Boost is directly related to your right foot; learn to have better and smoother control. Accelerate slowly. Again, this is a function of your right foot, no tuning required except for your brain. It's as simple as not using as much throttle.
When coming to a stop, coast down in gear instead of popping it into neutral. By doing so, the fuel injectors will shut off.

I have read and been on Hiboost's thread, it's got some great info, but I want to get into boost reduction and such, plus adding timing hasn't helped me a great deal. Once I got a TBE and went to stage 2 on the AP my mpg went down by about 2.
