if its HBSpeed - then he doesn't disable the DTC.

he preferes to tune it out, looks like you just encountered some different conditions

I only get it when i hit over 28psi. How do you diabel the DTC? Is it safe to do this?

It typically only happens to people boost spiking near 30psi or plus.

I have not seen anyone hit this problem running 26psi or under. So usually people with upgraded turbos or peopleing running meth/e85 on the stocker have this problem.

In order to get rid of it the airflow/torque tables need to be adjusted.

Murlo you might be right! After the bov change my car is hitting higher boost and close to 30psi. I have two knock counts and my a/f is perfect. I'm happy the way the car feels right now and will back it down one psi and run it on 29-28.

Honestly if the bov is holding a couple more psi it would be safer to go get it put on the dyno for a few pulls to make sure it is dialed in right. A few psi spike could be devastating, unlikely but possible since you were tuned for a different boost setting(now the turbo doesn't have to work as hard since you are leaking to reach the desired boost levels).

If you were tuned on the leaky stock BOV and then swapped to a valve that will hold the boost, you'll need to retune. Without a boost leak, there's a larger volume of air at lower temperature going into the engine than it's expecting.

After we figured out the problem i SHOULD have come back here to update....my apologies everyone.

i was initially only getting the code on the freeway because i'd already be cruising at like 3.5k then punch it, causing my boost to hit about 30psi. i didnt notice in the mornings because the light on my boost gauge isn't plugged in...so i couldnt see it due to it being dark. but on my drives during the day i was able to consistently recreate this scenario. when pulling hard from a dead stop it was fine. I did an autocross on saturday with no problems at all. now that i know what the problem is, i just avoid overboosting.

ultimately, it was because i installed a testpipe without getting my car retuned.
Hey man if you wanna come in i can lower that spike a bit and help smooth it out for ya!

PM OR EMAIL us and we can take care of ya!
