EGT limit

EGT limit

hi, if i m placing the EGT probe on testpipe, what is the limit of the temperature?

You'll want it as close to the runner as you can get it. Realistically it doesnt matter it is what it is but 850*C is a good starting limit.

other than test pipe, where else u guys normal place the EGT probe?

it is kind of hard to see, the photo was taken to show placement of the coilover reservoir. but you can see right above the mount for engine removal on the right and the wire running towards the passenger side of the car. it is taped into the runner and uses a stock hole in the heat shield. several people have asked it if was stock, it looks like it belongs.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother installing the EGT sensor in the test pipe. It won't be an accurate reading.

thanks for the input, what things i should look out for during installation of this EGT on runner?
one other question, so is the Wideband O2 good to be at test pipe or downpipe? what should I look out for during installation of O2 sensor on downpipe?

The closer to the engine you are the better.. These sensors need high temperatures to operate accurately. Hope I helped

Prob be better putting in the turbo manifold.

This.

Pull the exhaust manifold and drill/tap for the sensor.

Some people say you can drill/tap while on the motor, and just vacuum up the shavings (or let them ride through the turbo), but I'd prefer not to do that lol.

While you have the manifold out, gasket/port match it a bit... and pull the studs from the hotside and replace them with bolts to make getting the manifold off 10000x easier next time.
