08 gsr Cobb ap stage 2, injen intake w/uicp, Megan cb, mxp resonated tp. Never thrown a code, but I've noticed that sometimes when I run through a gear and redline I will let off the gas the revs will hang at redline until I engage another gear. Typing on phone sorry

maybe your throttle is sticky...did u check your cable.? or tps...

 

no cable on evo x's, try resetting by removing the battery.

Probably just too much fuel in there.

 

Sticky throttle blade.. You are not running a catch pan i presume and the PCV will take a dump all over the throttle over time.. How many miles do you have?

did you have your car tune or did someone touch the maps for electronic throttle? that would be my guess..but regardless, evo x tend to rev hang...if it does that, try stepping on the clutch it will kill the rev hang..

 

yeah i've seen that before and if you tap the clutch it'll go back down....it also is a sign of a clutch going bad.

 

I've had this problem many times just as many evolution 8 owners have "I know you have an 08".
#1 Cause= Carbon build up in and around throttle body. Clean and re-lubricate.
#2 Cause=Adjustment of throttle

Rev hang is a common problem on Evo Xs, even stock, some how though a tune seems to exacerbate the problem, search and you will find plenty of threads. Mine does it as well, it's pretty annoying.
