Cobb Stage 2 map quesitons

Can you run the stage 2 map with just a 02 downpipe and test pipe, but on the stock exhaust and have it run alright or no?

I dont think it will cause of the way the inside of the stock muffler is made. I could be wrong though.

Still curious about the "Full TBE" requirement. I'm sure there are some aftermarket exhaust systems out there that are as restrictive, if not more, than the stock system. To just say any full TBE will do seems overly simplistic.

Is it safe to assume that the real restrictor is at the cat, and running the stock downpipe and muffler is fine as long as you have replaced the oem cat with a hfc or tp?

i would say yes, the real restriction is the stock cat....then catback exhaust...then o2 downpipe

just for reference...i ran a rexpeed o2 downpipe and ultimate racing test pipe with the stock catback on cobb stage 2 91oct....ran completely fine with no knock...i also ran some datalogs on cobb stage 2 91oct with a completely stock tbe...and it ran fine too

just go ahead and flash it and run some logs..if your car can't handle it, flash back and wait till you get a full TBE

Yes, I have been running the Stage 2 w/ AMS intake 93 Oct map since the day i got my Cobb AP. And all i have is of course the AMS intake, DP and Test pipe.
I haven't had no problems or CEL, and the car is running good.

The restriction for stage 2 is not generally the catback section but the downpipe. If you have a test pipe and or a shorty downpipe, you should be able to run stage 2 without issue. The only other restriction to what type of map you can run is your intake!

What about gauges for stage 2? Is it recommended that you have a boost gauge, or anything else, so that you can monitor performance while driving?
