EvoScan Help
I want to log the car for now and need some help on how to go about setting it up for evoscan. I have the op2.0 cable but looking for a step by step guide on how to go about connecting the car etc but hvnt found anything on the forums for now. I am new to this and would rather ask you guys then screw something up. Also do i need to enable mode 23 on the ecu in-order to log or can it be done without it? Anything else i should be aware of? Thanks!!

Hey
It's all pretty straight forward to start with. You just need to plug the openport adapter into the obd connector above your accelerator pedal. Plug the usb cable into your laptop. Then select the Openport 2 radius button, and then select your ECU from the 'select ECU' dropdown. Then just select the items you want to log then hit the 'start logging' button. and you're good to go.
cheers

1. Enable mode23
2. the OBD port is just below your fusebox or above brake pedal. plug it in
3. plug USB to laptop
4. select/tick OP 2.0 / CAN 2006+/Evox when you see main screen on top left
5. Select ECU ie Mode23 2008 Evox USA
6. tick items you want to log, the lesser, the faster the logging
7. hit START Datalogger .... "Link engaged" LOL
Have fun, make sure eyes are on the road !

Hey guys thanx for the input....one more thing what is mode 23 to being with? Does enabling it unlock any parameters for the ECU? Have been trying to find a basic thread which describes what it is however there are countless ones with instructions on how to go about enabling it. Also i have a European Spec Evo X so will i still need to configure mode 23 or can i just log without it? Sorry for all the questions guys i new to this and trying to get as much info as i can.
Cheers!

and what is your romid ? EcuFlash should be able to tell you or if it's too complicated, after reading and done with the process above in EvoScan select Mode23 2008 Evox JDM for EU specs.

Thank you! I have gone though this post already its pretty informative however i still want to know in basic terms what is the mode 23 all about? Also i don't know for now what the romid is. Can i just connect it to Ecuflash and find out those details? Btw are you based in Oman?

I may be wrong but here goes nothing:
Mode 23 is basically editing the ROM on your car by changing 3 hex values that allows EvoScan to directly log current values in realtime when logging. For example, think of it as RAM addresses, if you are proficient in computers. You are basically giving access to RAM address locations where current Boost, RPM etc are kept in real time.
I may be totally off in my knowledge of the matter, but this is what I think I know.

Thanks really appreciate your input..... wanted to know for my own knowledge in lay man terms what it is or does as most the stuff on the forums is mostly talking about how to go about activating it rather then explaining what is actually is...
