Interesting idea for the next tephramod: Settable RPM that shifts the MMID to yellow (not sure what it does on the color versions) as a shift light.

Hey Bryan,

His PM box is full and does not get checked... do you have an e-mail address for him?

Bryan - I wanted to ask.

Now you are on E85 - do you think SST equipped cars will benefit from a alt lower timing bound table?

Yea for the guys that switch between fuels and espically the 91 / E85 users.

My lower bound is much higher on E85.

Alt mivec, and alt injector latencies as well. Honestly, if the ECU is capable of holding to complete maps, then I would optimally say that would be the IDEAL.

However, in order of priority for MR owners,
#1 would be lower bound timing.

For big injector (1500 cc +) alt injector latency.

Alt knock background noise multiplier

Alt cam timing (all models, at least one).

There are some other ones, but my brain is junk right now. That $15000 ring bought by that fellow in the other thread has triggered my ptsd.

Why do you need alt latency? Or Alt knock?

On some 1500 and larger injectors, when trims are set perfect for E85 (or visa versa), when you switch to gasoline they drift at idle. The car still idles fine because its with in the =/- the car can deal with, but because the alt map does not reset the trims, the car can idle less stable for a bit until it resorts it out.

Alt background noise adder if you the value bit for high boost E85, but want it back at stock for gasoline and lower boost map.

I can understand maybe the latency point even though I haven't really experienced the same.

The knock value thing I'm not quite grasping. Why would you change the knock values with the same motor just because you are running different boost levels?

More boost = more engine background noise.
E85 = Very knock resistant.
Gasoline not so much knock resistant.

xmod help

Hi hopefully there is someone who can help me with this simple fix. I havent had much of any problems using ecuflash since I started a couple months ago. Hell I knew nothing about mitsus and subbies until then also. I finally have worked a bunch of bugs out of my friends 08xgsr, and boy ill tell you everything that can go wrong with this car has, and I have quickly troubleshooted and eliminated them one by one,"if you want some laughs and a funny story about this lucky car, just ask, hint this 4b11 is a battleaxe and is one tough engine"
Anyways sense all the sins have been washed away from this evo, I have it running flawlesly, after installing lc-1, and tailoring his base map for his mods. cosworth drop in, magnaflow tbe w/ high flow cat, big dp, intercooler piping, and an overkill exedy ceramic, impossible for most to drive, clutch. I have been waiting for car to be ok to run the tephra xmod. I just dont know exactly how to copy my current tune maps over to the tephra xmod .hex. Is it done by opening up the xml file not under ecuflash then copying the text, which seems to me that it wont let you edit the xml file. I have opened different tunes in ecuflash and was able to highlight the values in one then paste them in the other. Is this similar to the process used w/xmod? xmod only seems to have empty alternate maps which wont let me paste in them.
With my luck whatever im doing wrong is right in front of my face. Any help with this would be awesome. As I'm interested in ths mod cause of the 100 oc sold at the gas pump by our residence. Once rom is flashed successfully, tephra will be recieving his donation, as it is well deserved. Thank Tephra, and all of you in this community for sharing your knowedge. I know sometimes you could be just wasting your breath with some, as tuning dreams are mostly delutional granger from some who could never put the passion into this. I am not that person. I dont even have an evo. Just became facinated helping friends with cars.

1) copy the xml file included in the zip into your ecuflash directory (rommetadata........\evo)

2) open the hex/bin ROM file include in the zip

3) copy all of the tuned maps from your existing ROM into the ROM from step 2.

4) flash to car

5) log knock/afr/tune and ensure its where you expect.

6) donate :P
